Orono Ice Arena

The Orono Ice Arena opened in 1997. This beautiful ice facility offers one olympic sized ice sheet, heated viewing areas, pro shop, concessions, skate rental and meeting space. The arena offers 4 large locker rooms, an officials room and two state of the art High School locker rooms. The facility is host to a variety of programs, including the Orono Youth Hockey Association, Orono Boys and Girls High School Hockey, and numerous hockey camps, schools and clinics.

For more information please contact the Arena at 952-449-6090.

Exciting changes are happening at the Orono Ice Arena! Below are some pictures to keep you up-to-date on the progress of shrinking the rink to NHL size.

Reducing the size of the ice from Olympic size to NHL size will ensure that Orono hockey players are playing, learning and practicing on the same type of rink as virtually all competing associations. This project has already been fully funded by donations! Thank you to our donors!

Building on these generous donations from community members, we are looking for your support on the next components of the renovation project. We encourage you to review the attached materials and join other community members by donating to the project. Now is the time for action. The OIA, Youth Association and Girls & Boys High School Programs are working together and need your continued support to make this project a reality.

If you have questions about the OIA Renovation Project, please reach out at arenainfo@oronohockey.org or call Pete Eckerline, OIA Renovation Chair, at 612-867-8371.
